"We were both young when I first saw you"
Yup, I felt it too. I wish I had something profound to say, but it's not that deep, Taylor is rerecording her past albums so her original masters (which she doesn't own) will have little to no value. And it's awesome to hear how clearer the instruments are, and her voice got rid of that country twang, which to me, will makes the song age better. Ultimately, I'm just happy it evokes the same feelings I would have had if I went back to the original song on Fearless. Lyrically, it's a Romeo and Juliet retelling, but with a happy ending. And for that, this song is just a love song, but considering I've been a fan of her in large parts due to this song, and knowing how powerful and successful she had become, I have to rank this song higher because it's one of her biggest hits, and the vibe I got from people who grew up with her music, sees this as a big celebration of her being free and taking control.
