Release Date: September 30th, 2022
I googled best rap album 2022 and found this. it's interesting because if you google billy woods, there's a bunch of pictures with his face blurred, and this is his 11th album overall. He's also one half of Armand Hammer, which I remember trying, but giving up on their 2020 album, Shrines.
Review: Anyways, he reminds me of Ka, and it took me nearly 10 listens before Ka started to click. I tried opening up genius so I could follow along with the lyrics, but that didn't seem fun. All i can say is that whatever genre of rap this is, I respect it. But it also feels like a textbook and a lot of the things he says go over my head. I also don't think the instrumental or the beats are all that interesting, expect for "Pollo Rico," but that's only because there's a voice going "ooooo."
Summary: Yeah, I'm not qualify to review this, it sounds like every other conscious rap album or whatever you wanna call it. I feel silly rating this below some kpop, but due to personal preference, i don't see myself listening to this on repeat.
Favorite Songs:
Cossack Wedding, Pollo Rico, All Jokes Aside
Rating: 6/10
