The Smile - A Light for Attracting Attention

Release Date: May 13th, 2022

it's the Radiohead guy

ReviewI'm pretty tempted to give this a 5 by default. Alternative rock became sour to me about 15 years ago. Yes, I understand how good OK, Computer and Kid A are, but I felt very pigeon holed to give respect to everything Radiohead has done after. I know technically this isn't an Radiohead album, but Thom Yorke has that type of voice that you cannot deny that it is him.

With that said, this album is pretty good. I like the instrumentation a lot more than the voice and I probably can't name a single lyric off this album. But I enjoyed my time with it, all 53 minutes. time will tell if I come back to it, but considering my personal taste, I don't think I will. again, I know it's not Radiohead, but nothing here tops what I heard on Kid A. maybe it's because i've been in the pop landscape for so long, i forgot how cool it is to hear finger plucking of the base or the guitar or whatever they doing.

SummaryPretty good rock music, i like the instrumentation a lot.
