this album is really deceiving.
Review: After hearing "That's Physics, Baby," I figured they were an emo revival band, but nope, none of their other songs really have that emo guitar playing style. I would say they mostly have a dreamy, alternative sound. To be honest, I feel like there are too many cooks in the kitchen. It's like some of the band members were like, I'm indie rock (Conscious Uncoupling, Talk Too Much), I'm pop punk (Arm's Length, Swallow), I'm midwest emo (That's physics, Baby), I'm slow burning dreamscape (Comes in Waves). And it works for me.
Summary: It's weird, outside of "that's physics, baby" which i think is a top tier song, i don't think they are doing anything outstanding, but as a listening experience, I'm really enjoying the multi genre direction the album went. The dreamy songs feel good to zoom out, but they also have songs to sing a long to.
Favorite Songs:
That's Physics, Baby, Further, Talk Too Much, Comes in Waves, Swallow, Arm's Length
