Spoon - Lucifer on the Sofa

Release DateFebruary 11th, 2022

Because this album came out so early in the year, I kept seeing it on the "Best of 2022 so far" list through out the year. My frame of reference to this band is "Kill the Moonlight," and "They Want My Soul." Both great albums, but they have 7 other albums I haven't touched. This is their 10th album.

ReviewFirst track is a cover from the band, Smog. it was alright, but I did not care about it. Sounded like an old typical indie rock song. Then "The Hardest Cut" gave me "The Way We Get By" vibes. I was feeling it with track 3 and 4, and with track 5, "My Babe" i was like, wow, they got something here. But as I finished the album, there aren't songs here that I would share with other people. It's basically comfort food for those who like that indie rock, blues rock sound.

SummaryI like the way it started, then I realized that this is some dad rock shit.

Favorite Songs:  The Hardest Cut, The Devil & Mister Jones, My Babe
Rating: 6/10
