Yiruma - Love

Off of his new album. Good stuff. A really strong song that rivals his other classic.

Lost in the Trees - Fireplace

This song is great. Probably the song most people will go "wow" when they first listen to their new album. It did for me. There's so much fire in the song. They have an ensemble-like band so hearing so many elements with his voice raised is memorable.

The New Frontiers - Mirrors

Can't really think of a 'new' song that I liked this week, but with the news of this band breaking up made me sad. They had so much potential to be awesome. o well. Here's my favorite song from their debut.

Moving Mountains - With One's Heart In One's Mouth

http://www.myspace.com/movingmountainsmusic

Gosh, why do I love this band? Maybe it's my lack of music-making ability so everything they do just impresses me. Even with myspace quality, the extra care in the soundscape is apparent. There's 3 beautiful things going at once and the vocals are dark as hell. It's different with Pneuma and my love for the band won't wear out till ... forever, so by itself, it's impossible to say how good it really is. Do I like it? of course. But I certainly can't wait to hear the song within the content of the EP (or LP).

Priscilla Ahn - Dream

Why is this version of the song so good? Just watching her creating layers of her own voice spot on is crazy cool. great song.

The Submarines - You, Me, and the Bourgeoisie

This song is cute. I swear I never seen it on the iphone commercial. Also, Happy birthday SotW. I know, this was a bad idea.

Lifehouse - Broken

This song is their new single and it has what it takes to be a strong single for, I suppose the everyday person. But that's beyond the point, they finally did a music video that doesn't suck. Watch it.

Donna Du - Say Goodbye

If I won the lottery, I would totally give her money to record an album. Not to sound creepy, but just watching her lips move when she sings really reminds me of a young Michelle Branch. Hopefully she'll get that pop stuff out of her system soon, but I kinda don't care. Michelle did start out listening to Hanson. Even thought it's youtube, she shows great charisma. And based on her hands, her chords aren't that complicated, but she makes it sound so smooth. Like the chord changes and stuff. Here's hoping for the best. It's kinda lame that she's my SotW, but if I'm being honest, she's the best 'new' thing I discovered all week.

T.I. - Livin Your Life (Feat. Rihanna)

I mainly like the chorus with Rihanna. It just feels like it's going to be a smash single this year. Did i forget to mention he samples that numa numa song? yeah.

Jack's Mannequin - Spinning

Probably my favorite song on the new album. It might reach my year end list.

Michelle Branch - Together

The obvious pick for this week. Michelle Branch's first new song as a solo artist that isn't a cover song. Is it good? far from it. I'm scared now. Hopefully her new album isnt as cheesy.

Rihanna - Take A Bow

"You look so dumb right now." This song is hilarious. Yet, I really like her vocals here.

Dr. Horrible - On The Rise

Not sure who the 'artist' is credited to nor the song title name, but whatever. It's the first song you hear on Act II. Neil Patrick Harris is pretty awesome and Felicia Day is cute. Fun harmonies near the end.

CF98 - Buffalo's Eye

I'm usually picky with pop punk bands, but I really like the girl's voice in this band. I haven't had the time to dissect their albums yet (external hard drive is dead), so this is the only song that really stands out right now.
