Twice - Page Two

Release Date: April 25th, 2016
Genre: kpop

Their 2nd mini-album.

Review
: I always thought the music video for "Cheer Up" was cool because all of the members had their own individual scenes, but the "be a man" line felt dated, and I thought the music had too many change-ups. But watching content creators tell me that Twice didn't become a household name until "Cheer up," thanks in part to Sana's "shy shy shy" going viral, plus having so much footage of them performing this song, it's hard to rank this lower than a classic. It also cements all of the roles the girls are still known for to this day.

The next track is a close contender for my favorite Twice b-side, "Precious Love." It's one of their longest songs and it doesn't have a drastic musical change, and just when you think the song is wrapping up, the rap-line delivered a fast rap to end the song. I think it's perfect.

"Touchdown" sucks, for the longest time, I thought it was a brainless song that just has counting, but in the context of a concert, this song is a fun, brainless, easy to sing, easy to count along, song. Plus, it fits so well with the cheerleader concept for this album.

I like "Tuk Tok" because they didn't bother to change the chorus to English, and combine with the music, I love how crunchy it sounds. The rap here sounds youthful, and Mina sounds so hot when she says, "no really."

"Woohoo" is fine. break it down now. I normally skip this track and pick another album, but the song is fine. Last, "My Headphones on" sounds weird, but because it's Twice, I don't mind it. I don't think they are as catchy as the other songs, but it's interesting to hear their voices back in 2016. On the physical, they also included the intro song of "Sixteen" which is "I'm gonna be a star." I don't consider this to be part of the album, but just a bonus for those that want to have it. It's a shitty song, but hilarious to hear now because we know how far they've come.

Summary
: On their 2nd mini album, Twice found their sound, a much improvement over their debut album and I thought the rap-line did amazing when it was their turn to shine.
